At Dynamic Build Group, we’re always looking for ways to reduce the environmental footprint of our projects and we’re thrilled to share a small foundation win that delivered a big environmental impact.
When our client asked about using eco concrete for the foundations, we didn’t hesitate to investigate the best local solution. The result?
A switch to CEVO low-carbon concrete, supplied by Tarmac from a local cement factory.
This smart decision delivered serious environmental benefits:
47% reduction in embodied carbon compared to standard concrete
A total saving of 4.3 tonnes of CO₂ emissions
Equivalent to 60% of the average UK citizen’s annual carbon footprint (7.2 tonnes, according to Our World in Data)
This project is aiming to be carbon negative in operation, generating more green energy than it consumes while keeping the materials used in the build as low carbon as possible.
“It is a pleasant surprise how a decision by our client and our willingness to innovate with alternative products and materials has impacted on the carbon emissions for the project” Gavin Wilkes, Director.
And this matters more than many realise!
Cement production is responsible for around 8% of global CO₂ emissions, according to Chatham House and the International Energy Agency (IEA).
So when there’s a better option available, we believe it’s worth taking.
We’re proud to support clients who share our vision for smarter, cleaner and more sustainable homes. Stay tuned for more updates as this eco home takes shape.
