An ultra low energy solution was also needed to avoid a gas supply and upgrading the electric system.
The solution had to maintain the design intent to deliver a building comprising two Flexible Learning Spaces, Changing Areas & Toilet Facilities.

Built in an unused area of the site with a mound excavated and piled foundations required to support the structure. A retaining wall was also required to support the land around the building.
A hybrid structure to achieve the ā€˜Lā€™ shaped design with a shallow mono pitched roof to each wing & a central raised flat roof over the entrance.
Delivery strategy with access via a 3 metre gate shared with the school nursery.
LED lighting and Heat Pump technology for heating and cooling, innovative electric radiatiors and water heating.
The external walls consists of 3 horizontal bands of rainscreen cladding in two contrasting colours and the entrance area is finished with a white render.
